One of our biggest challenges over the past few months has been our ability to respond to calls concerning wildlife.
In some cases we are able to deal with the issue over the phone by offering suitable advice.
In many cases people are willing and able to take the animal or bird directly to us at the New Arc. ( We thank You!! )
However we are increasingly under pressure to travel throughout Aberdeen and the North East to pick up a variety of 'Orphans' and respond to a variety of injured animals and birds.
Over the past 3 years we have managed to do this ourselves and the costs have been borne by ourselves personally.
( To date, The New Arc has no employed staff, no rent or rates, pays no expenses such as transport, phone bills, electric etc. )
We are fortunate enough to be able to call on a number of people who are willing to make similar efforts, but we try not to call on them unless we are completely stuck
We would like to build up a database of people, groups and organisations who are able to support us in these efforts.
The level of expertise can vary from those simply willing to be a 'local contact' to those willing to pick up a box and transport it to the Centre.
Those of you, individuals, organisations and professionals, who have some 'first hand' or specialist experience and can either provide overnight care, nurturing, first aid or long term care for emergency cases are welcome to get in touch to discuss how we can best work together.
If you feel you can offer assistance at any level please feel free to get in touch with us so that we can discuss in further detail.
Don't be shy!!
We can only do what we do with your assistance!
