The most unusual? Hmmm ... degus? We have heaps of those, and whilst some people seem to know of them and have seen them, we meet many people who have never heard of them. We have a couple of corn snakes, and took in a large iguana (who sadly is no longer with us). We also have more than enough terrapins!

Where do all the terrapins come from? I didnt know they were too popular I had never heard of degus untill i went to college i think they have 3? (Aint been in the animal unit for ages, lol!) I have an african pygmy hedgehog Hoping to get another in the future one day, they are amusing little critters! Mines is getting to be a bit of a tubber (couch potato hog) at 450g though, so he has been on a diet the last few weeks, light biccys and less mealworms haha I have been on a few online forums, there are so many people further south who keep things such as sugar gliders, possums, pouched rats, RACCONS & FENNEC FOXES?! , praire dogs, african pygmy dormice, jerboras...god theres too much to name. Im not sure if there is that many popular exotic mammals up here just now though. Where would all these type of animals go if they were unwanted? Im sure i seen on tv about a raccon being found in england living wild somwhere, said it must have escaped a zoo but no zoo claimed to have a missing animal meaning it must have been dumped Im yabbering on now, haha
