We recieved a phone call from the BBC this morning on behalf of the Bryan Burnett 'Get it On' show. Each friday they have a 2 hour music programme featuring requests from listeners. Towards the end of each programme they feature a 'fab five' and have asked us to contribute 5 songs which we feel are appropriate to The New Arc and the work we do here. Needless to say this has caused much fun and hilarity Some choices were just plain silly....I Include the theme song for 'Shaun the Sheep' and the Father Ted song 'My lovely Horse'. amongst those Some more obvious and obscure ones, which didnt make the final 5 included 'Eye of the Tiger', Born free and Paddy McGintys goat...which when you listen to the words is a song of some dubious nature. So...If you want to hear the final 5 you will have to tune into the 'Get it On' show with Bryan Burnett on Friday night If you have a top 5 animal or rescue related songs why not send them to the forum ( preferably with Links to you tube ) and share them with everbody. We will publish our top 5 after the show

I hope you all listened to the show!!! What you missed it!!! Its available on the Radio Scotland I player. Look under the Bryan Burnett 'get it on' show We must admit that we were delighted when he told his radio audience that this was the most relevant 'fab five' they had ever recieved Just in case you missed it...here is our top 5...in reverse order If you want to hear them just try You Tube Coming in at number 5...A 'Horse with no name' by America. The New Arc has taken in a number of horses in the past four years...and yes, they have all names now At number 4 we decided on a Beatles tune. Blackbird. Not the best known of the Beatles tunes, but If you listen to the lyrics, they sum up our feelings for wild birds fantastically! At number 3 we could not pass up on the chance of the Cure song...Love Cats self explanatory! Number 2 was a far more difficult choice. The song does not have an 'animal' theme...but Eva Cassiday's 'Songbird' sums up the fact that a lot of the animals and birds that come here, are here because they are in need of love and attention that they have never experienced before. The sad fact is that we are the 'Last stop hotel' for them. Here at the New Arc they will recieve all the love we can give them, with the promise that if a better home and more love and attention from a loving family becomes available then they can move on to a better home. The Number 1 choice has nothing to do with Animals...but who can ignore the sentiment and the obvious lyrics The artist is not that well known, but the tune is! Rescue Me! by Fontella Bass!...Check it out on You tube. As soon as you hear it you will know why it was our No1 Choice
